Big O’s is ‘simply delicious.’ Let’s talk about that jalapeno popper sandwich and tomato bisque soup

I’m not one of those people who dine out for lunch very often.

I like to save my eating-out-calories for dinner with The Husband.

But yesterday I enjoyed lunch at Big O’s Simply Delicious in Stephenville with my mother-in-law, three of my sisters-in-law and two nieces to finally celebrate the baby sis (Janelle) turning 40.

It had been such a long time that I had been to Big O’s that I stood in line to place my order at the counter, not realizing that isn’t how it’s done anymore.

So I took my seat at a long table and scanned the menu. I was relieved to see they still served my favorite: a jalapeno popper sandwich and tomato bisque soup.

That sandwich is delish. Think of the best grilled cheese you will ever sink your teeth into with a hint of jalapeno. Dip it into the bowl of soup and you’ll go straight to foodie heaven.

Big O’s has a daily lunch special that includes combos with soups, hot and cold sandwiches and salads that come with a drink and dessert (get the crepe) for $10 and under.

(I brought The Husband home an order of strawberry crepes and bowl of soup because I’m a good wife like that.)

Big O’s also has gyros, fish and chips, gelato and sorbet. Oh, and they also serve breakfast.

The quaint restaurant that feels more like a cafe is across the street from Tarleton State University in the building where Bostocks is located. It’s easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there.

Big O’s is definitely not a place you want to overlook.

It truly is simply delicious.
