Be the hostest with the mostest with this fancy cocktail made with Brandy and vanilla ice cream.

My uncle Ronnie has been a bartender his entire life.

When we visited him in Reno years ago, he whipped up a delicious cocktail made with vanilla ice cream.

It was so good that I have never forgotten it.

Fast forward to last Saturday night when The Husband and I were having dinner with friends at Paris on 7th in Fort Worth.

During a birthday celebration at another table, the waiter walked by carrying a tray full of creamy, white cocktails. He told us they were Brandy Ice.

We paid no mind to the fact that we were stuffed after dinner and ordered one for each of us, and lo and behld, it was the same drink my uncle made me all those years ago!

I came right home and found a recipe, and whipped up a batch last night.

And you guys…THIS cocktail needs to be on your holiday menu!

Festive, delicious and perfect for a crowd, the Brandy Ice will make you the hostest with the mostest.

I’m about to dazzle the entire fam bam when I make them for our large crew on Christmas Eve. They don’t know it yet (well I guess they do now), but we have a new tradition on our hands.

Here’s what you need to make Brandy Ice for two. It's the version I used:

1 ½ cups vanilla ice cream (I used Blue Bell of course.)

2 tbsp brandy

2 tsp crème de cocoa

2 tsp Godiva chocolate liqueur

Let the ice cream soften for a bit (maybe 30 minutes).

Place everything in a blender, pour into a pretty glass and sprinkle with nutmeg.

Then sit next to your Christmas tree and stare at it.

This next version is for a crowd (and the one I’ll be making Christmas Eve). The recipe says it serves six.

½ gallon vanilla ice cream

½ to 2/3 cup brandy

1/2 cup creme de cacao

1/2 cup Godiva chocolate liqueur

To add a little fancy to these drinks, top with whipped cream or a cute cookie!

Cheers to the merriest Christmas you've ever had!
