With the holidays upon us, there’s a good chance you’ll need to whip up some buttercream icing or homemade whipped cream to top off those big mugs of hot chocolate.
The good news is that both are simple to make.
Click here to watch a video on how I do it and keep scrolling for the full recipes.
BUTTERCREAM ICING; WHAT YOU NEED
1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks), softened
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tbsp. pure vanilla
2-4 tbsps. whole milk or heavy cream
HOW TO MAKE IT
Whip butter in stand mixer on medium speed for about one minute; turn it down and slowly add in sugar.
Combine and slowly add milk and vanilla.
WHIPPED CREAM; WHAT YOU NEED
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup powdered sugar (Use more if you prefer a super sweet cream like I do!)
1 tsp. vanilla
HOW TO MAKE IT
Pour cream, sugar and vanilla into mixer and whip until it resembles fluffy clouds.
Yes…. that’s it!
This is perfect for coffee or hot chocolate.
It keeps well in the refrigerator, but I promise it won’t last long enough before you need to make a new batch!
This beats the can every day and is just as simple as running to the store.
