Anonymous donor gives United Way the ability to help those still suffering from winter storm.

The deadly storm that gripped North Texas in February still has a stronghold on some who continue to suffer its aftereffects.

But thanks to an anonymous corporate donation to the United Way of Texas, help is now available.

“The United Way of Texas received an anonymous donation, then we applied for funding and received $25,000,” Erath County United Way board president Shelley Gilliland told Beneath the Surface News.

The grant will be used to help Erath County residents still struggling to get back on their feet.

“Just last week we helped a lady who had been living in a travel trailer without water since February,” Shelley said. “We paid to have her plumbing fixed.”

ECUW does not give applicants cash; all bills are paid directly to the vendor.

To receive an application, call 254-965-4429.

You will need to provide your name, address, driver’s license and a copy of the bill you need help with.
