Angel Trees for local children in CPS care now up at four locations.

The holiday season is all about giving, and just like you, I can’t stand the thought of any child waking up on Christmas morning without a present to unwrap, which is why local Angel Trees are so incredibly important.

I was recently asked to serve on the Erath County Child Welfare Board and I can tell you that it has been an eye-opening experience. Some of the stories we hear are absolutely heartbreaking.

There are about 80 local kiddos currently in the care of Child Protective Services that could use a little extra love right now.

You can do your part to help by picking a child from one of the Child Welfare Board’s four Angel Trees located at The Home Place at Ace, Blue-Eyed Buffalo, Kannonball Insurance and Brazos Valley Equine Hospital in Morgan Mill.

Shop for the child, then bring new, unwrapped gifts back to the location where you chose the angel by Dec. 10.

The gifts will then be given to caseworkers and delivered to the families before Christmas.

My daughter and I are choosing and shopping for our angel next weekend and we can hardly wait.
