8 pounds, 6.25 inches gone in 3 weeks. A big thanks to Julie Brinkley for helping me on this journey

You guys, I’ve been doing a thing.

A dieting thing.

Those who know me (or read this blog) have heard me complain about this extra weight I’ve been lugging around for a while now.

Surely you recall my failed attempt last year to shed the weight on Keto, and while I did manage to lose a few pounds, they crept right back on after my first bite of linguini.

So here I am in the middle of summer and back to square one. Bathing suit season, you guys, just isn’t fun when you don’t feel confident.

SO… I CALLED JULIE BRINKLEY

If you’ve never had the pleasure of meeting Julie Brinkley, I bet you watch her live cooking show on the BTS News Facebook page at 11 a.m. every Wednesday.

Her healthy lean and green meals piqued my interest and I have been whipping them up in my own kitchen for the past few months.

I knew that Julie had lost a ton of weight and now coaches others on how they can do the same.

After seeing a couple of unflattering photos of myself and getting tired of ditching my towel and hopping in the pool when I thought no one was looking, I gave her a call.

Julie is the queen of nice. She explained the program in great detail and told me how it changed her life.

I knew that buying into it would be an investment in myself and that I had to be ready if I wanted to succeed. I was.

I started the plan three weeks ago and have so far lost eight pounds and 6.25 inches (two in my waist!).

And here is the best part; I’m not starving and shopping for clothes is fun again.

SOCIALIZING AND CHARDONNAY

You are probably wondering about two things I really love: Socializing and drinking chardonnay with my girlfriends.

For these first few weeks I made the decision to cut back on the first so I could eliminate the second. I celebrated the July 4th holiday with several glasses of Topo Chico dressed with lime and mint.

The Husband has been a champ and supports my need to stay at home more. He even enjoys the lean and green dinners I prepare every night for the two of us.

And seriously, what’s not to love? Here are a few samples of what I’ve been eating.

Broccoli taco bowl

And this.

Caprese chicken (my favorite!)

And this.

Cheeseburger bake

And this.

Cauliflower salad

The rest of my meals come in the form of “fuelings,” pre-packaged and perfectly portioned bars, shakes and other handy snacks that keep you feeling full and energetic all day long. (You get five per day.)

The program is incredibly easy, but I have had a few challenging moments I’ve had to work through.

But getting into those shorts that were too small three weeks ago and putting on a bathing suit with confidence is worth it. You are too.

If you want to shed a few pounds or a large amount of weight and are looking for a program that works, I encourage you to call Julie at 254-485-9987.

She has been an invaluable source of knowledge, tips and encouragement and I am so happy I made that call to her several weeks ago.

I’ve got 12 more pounds to go! Stay tuned!
