Diary of a Diet Week 3: I trotted, avoided Chardonnay and lost 2 more pounds. Yay me!

Updated: Nov 19, 2020

You guys, things went considerably better than last week.

I only lost two pounds, but hey, at least the scale is moving in the right direction.

With Halloween behind me, I focused on healthy cooking and made this delicious keto-friendly jalapeno popper chicken bake and even went to Casa Azteca for a Mexican food fix. (Think chicken fajitas and lots of guacamole, but no chips or tortillas.)

This jalapeno popper chicken bake was a hit.

I also increased my exercise program.

I used to do a bit of running years ago, and it was always enough to keep me pretty trim, but I gave that up after a bulging disc nearly killed me.

To avoid surgery, my doctor said it was time for yoga, so the running shoes were tossed to the back of the closet where they remained until last week.

During one of my morning walks, I decided to take it up a notch, hoping to get this old heart pumping a little harder and burn some extra calories.

I can’t say I broke out into a full sprint or even a jog. It was more like an awkward trot, but I did it!

And the good news is that I didn’t end up in the hospital.

So this week’s goal is to trot more, eat less and lose that final three pounds that need to go before my niece walks down the aisle on Saturday.

No one wants a chubby aunt crying in the pew.

And with all the upcoming wedding festivities, I’ll be skipping the Week 4 update, so wish me luck.

I really want to squeeze into that dress this weekend.

See you after Week 5.
