City health authority says patients with coronavirus appear to be improving

By SARA VANDEN BERGE

Despite the fact that 11 Erath County residents have tested positive for coronavirus, there is some good news.

Dr. Kelly Doggett, the city’s health authority, said Wednesday that those patients appear to be on the mend.

“There have been no hospitalizations,” Doggett said. “Some are taking a little longer than others to turn the corner and start feeling better, but as far as I know, there are no complications.”

The virus has also been linked to the death of an elderly man in his 80s.

The city’s emergency management coordinator Jimmy Chew is reporting that 257 tests have been administered locally with 136 of those coming back negative.
