A new boutique hotel is opening in Granbury and I’m obsessed. You won’t believe this place.

I don’t care that Granbury is only 30 minutes away. As soon as Hotel Lucy opens, I am booking a night’s stay.
I recently spoke with Katie Gooch who is handling some details of the hotel’s grand opening. She is also the executive director at Hard Eight BBQ so she’s an expert when it comes to the hospitality industry.
Katie told me the hotel is expected to open in late August or early September, but it can’t come soon enough.
Believe me when I say this place is spectacular.
The chic boutique hotel is located on Pearl Street just off Granbury’s vibrant courthouse square. It sits right next to Granbury Flower & Gifts, owned by Vicki Nivens, who also happens to be the woman behind Hotel Lucy.
WHO’S LUCY?
Like you, I imagined that Lucy might be the name of Vicki’s beloved grandma. Perhaps she was an old aunt that still held a special place in her heart. I thought Lucy might have even been a dog.
Turns out I was wrong about all of it.
“I wish I had a good story for the name Lucy, but I don’t,” Vicki said. “I was just drawn to it. I always liked the name and I feel like I was a Lucy in my previous life.”
She recalled that her late husband Phil used to call her Lucy.
“He would always say things to me like, ‘Don’t cause any trouble, Lucy,’” laughing at the memory.
ABOUT THE HOTEL
Hotel Lucy includes three houses and 12 rooms.
“The houses that make up the property overlook the pool and courtyard area and some of the rooms have a lake view,” Gooch said.
Several of the rooms, which come with king-size beds, also have a private patio.
The hotel also includes a lounge that will host a complimentary happy hour, beautifully manicured grounds, courtyard, resort-style pool with cabanas and fire pit with comfortable seating.
Each of the houses have a coffee bar and the main house has a full kitchen so guests can bring their own food.
Each room is decorated in its own unique theme and comes with lavish furnishings, bathrobes and Zents shampoo and soaps, a luxury bath line that is spa-worthy.
And here’s something else: The hotel is located within walking distance to the iconic square that boasts amazing wineries, bars and shopping.
“Our concierge will be happy to set up dinner reservations or tickets to Granbury Live or Granbury Opera House,” Katie said.

Hotel Lucy can host any event with up to 75 guests in its large meeting room or beautiful courtyard.
They even have an oversized tent for outdoor gatherings.
“We have the capability to host birthday and cocktail parties in our beautiful courtyard,” Vicki said. “I’m excited to bring something like this Granbury.”
Hotel Lucy boasts a funky, resort-style feel that’s hard to find anyplace else.
It truly is a place you have to see to believe.
