This sweetie was adopted, then returned because her owner couldn’t afford heart worm treatment.
This week’s featured pet up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Amelia, a four-year-old female Shepherd mix.
Animal shelter officials describe has as “a sweet girl that loves meeting new people and going out.”
While Amelia does love attention, she does not like having people in her face and will nip if you get too close. Because of this, she should be in a home with only adults and older children.
She can also be particular about which dogs she gets along with, so a meet-and-greet is recommended, and cats are a big “no” in her world.
Amelia is housebroken and crate trained. She does well inside and only barks when she needs to potty.
She walks well on a leash and is great in the car.
Amelia was originally adopted from the animal shelter, then returned because the adopter could not afford heart worm treatment.
She is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and heart worm positive but has finished the slow kill method of treatment.
