This sweet guy has had a run of bad luck and has been in and out of the shelter for 2 years.

Graham

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Graham, a four to five-year-old male Pit Bull Terrier mix.

“He is very sweet, but he’s shy and yearns for a couch to sleep on,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “He didn't love people when he first came in because he was so scared, but he has warmed up and loves to go on walks and get attention.”

Graham still gets scared and barks when he sees strangers, but gets over it quickly, and will soon want to lay in their lap.

“He is good with female dogs, but iffy with male dogs,” Serena said. “He does well on a leash and is house trained.”

Graham is microchipped, heart worm negative and on prevention.

He was adopted, then returned when his owner moved and couldn't take him. He has been at the shelter off-and-on since May 2021.

Lucilia is a 13-year-old female domestic shorthair.

“She is a sweet senior girl who needs to be in a single-pet home,” Serena said. “She adores humans, but hates other animals.

Lucilia

“Lucilia needs a comfortable place to call home,” Serena said. “She is an inside-only cat and enjoys a warm bed and wet food.”

Lucilia is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and litter box trained.

If you would like to meet Graham, Lucilia or the other 82 dogs and 43 cats that need homes, stop by the shelter at 891 East Road in Stephenville.
