These sister Labs need a good home and the Erath County Humane Society needs these supplies.

Sadie and Biscuit

With 88 dogs and 66 cats currently taking residence at the Erath County Humane Society, supplies are running low and ECHS executive director Serena Wright is asking the public for help.

“We are in need of kitty litter, canned dog food and dry puppy and kitten food,” Serena told Beneath the Surface News. “We could also use some paper towels and sanitizing wipes.”

The animal shelter is hosting a bake sale and microchipping from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, at Walmart (grocery side) in Stephenville.

Microchipping will be $10.

THIS WEEK’S FEATURED PETS

Sadie and Biscuit are 12-year-old female Lab mixes that must be adopted together.

“They are both very sweet and walk fairly well on a leash,” Serena said. “Biscuit is more outgoing, and Sadie can be a little shy around new people, but warms up pretty fast.”

Biscuit is heartworm negative, but Sadie tested positive and is on treatment.

The duo has been at the shelter since May.

“They may be seniors, but they still have a lot of energy,” Serena said.

Sadie and Biscuit are spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Persephone

Persephone is a one to two-year-old female cat that also needs a new home.

“She is very playful and energetic, but can get a little rough and should probably not be around children,” Serena said.

Persephone is litter box trained and microchipped.
