Updated: Dec 13, 2020
Looking for the perfect Christmas gift for that special teacher, family member, customer or employee?
Then you need to meet Sherri Littlejohn.
Sherri and her husband Mark own and operate Littlejohn Produce, located on Lingleville Road, and out of the dozens of times I have been there over the years, at least one of them is always there to greet customers with a big dose of helpfulness.
And Tuesday was no exception.
I stopped by Littlejohn’s (as it’s affectionately known) and had the chance to chat with Sherri about her custom-made holiday baskets.
I also had a chance to check out the company’s latest addition - Littlejohn’s Back Porch Christmas – a festive holiday shop filled with everything you need to create a perfectly unique gift basket anyone would love.
“I can make any kind of basket to fit any budget,” Sherri told Beneath the Surface News.
And shopping for it is a blast.
Littlejohn’s Back Porch Christmas has endless treasures of unique items like pralines, Santa melt-aways, chocolate oranges, old-fashioned hard candy, festive tins of bubble gum, peppermint bark, peanut brittle, popcorn, Christmas mugs and tumblers.
“I have a whole shipment of flavored and coated nuts and candies on the way,” Sherri said. “We also make gourmet, fruit, and meat and cheese baskets.”
No order is too big or too small, and if you can dream it, Sherri can make it.
In fact, one local company hired her to make 50 Christmas baskets for its employees.
Another local business brought hats and gloves with the company’s logo on them, and Sherri is adding additional goodies from her store to create gorgeous promotional baskets for customers.
“It’s a lot of fun,” she said. “We also have several pre-made baskets on site that customers can just stop by and purchase.”
HERE’S WHAT ELSE YOU WILL FIND AT LITTLEJOHN’S
Inside the main (open-air) store you will find fresh vegetables and produce, Volleman’s glass-bottled milk and a large supply of grocery staples like bread and canned goods.
There’s also a meat market with some of the best steaks you will ever have, as well as a nursery stocked with seasonal plants and flowers.
Littlejohn’s has an on-site restaurant and separate catering business available for weddings, holiday parties and other private events.
And they make amazing charcuterie boards.
But that’s not all.
Littlejohn’s also sells propane, sod and firewood. (We just bought a bundle and it burns beautifully!)
If you are not shopping at Littlejohn’s, you’re missing out.
This local business is a true treasure.
