Stephenville’s first-ever Christmas Light Parade is coming to town 2 days after Thanksgiving.

Things are about to get exceptionally jolly ‘round here!

Stephenville is set to have a fantastic holiday season this year with another new event coming to town.

The city’s first-ever Christmas Light Parade will take place on Saturday, Nov. 28.

(That's two days after Thanksgiving!)

“I love Christmas and I have always wanted to have an event like this to bring joy to our community and spread the true meaning of the holiday,” said Julie Lowrance who is co-chairing the event along with Julie Crouch Smith. “All of the floats – everything in the parade - will be lit with Christmas lights.”

The parade route will center around the downtown area, Erath County Courthouse and City Park.

“We are still in the initial planning stages, but we hope to have some downtown events earlier that day to encourage people to shop local,” Julie Lowrance told Beneath the Surface News. “We might even have some Christmas carolers at the courthouse.”

Santa has also received a special invitation to attend the parade and his elves are working to fit it in his busy schedule, so stay tuned.

To enter the parade or become a volunteer, email Julie Lowrance at framesetc@gmail.com or call 254-592-7404 or Julie Crouch Smith at 254-552-1222.
