Stephenville city secretary Staci King announces resignation during Tuesday’s city council meeting.
The city of Stephenville is losing a stellar employee.
The city council accepted the resignation of city secretary Staci King during Tuesday’s meeting at City Hall.
Her last day with the city will be Friday, May 20.
The move comes after Staci King’s husband Jason King was named interim city manager following the resignation of former city manager Allen Barnes in April.
It is not clear if Jason King, Stephenville’s former police chief and current asst. city manager, will apply for the permanent position, but it is widely speculated that he will.
The city is still accepting applications for the position, and now, will soon begin accepting resumes for a new city secretary.
