SISD board of trustees accepts Underwood’s resignation; holds off on naming interim superintendent.
The Stephenville ISD board of trustees did not name an interim superintendent on Monday night after a closed session.
Superintendent Matt Underwood told Beneath the Surface News that he expects the board to make that decision when it meets on Aug. 11.
“I’m not leaving until August 31 so we have some time,” Underwood said. “I expect the board to make the decision on an interim superintendent and choose a search firm next month.”
Underwood announced last week that he is leaving the district after seven years to become the next senior vice president of Erath and Brown counties for Ranger College.
He submitted his official letter of resignation to the board on Monday night.
