‘Shop with a Cop’ supplies Christmas gifts to 30 local kids. (And they got breakfast too!)

Erath County law enforcement agencies worked together to make Christmas extra special for area youth through a program called “Shop with a Cop.”

DPS Sgt. Nick Duecker spearheaded the operation that raised enough money to purchase gifts for 30 local kids who needed a little extra help this holiday season.

To top it off, The Purple Goat supplied breakfast Monday morning for the kids and cops before the group went shopping at Walmart.

“Today, all law enforcement agencies in Erath County had the honor and privilege to make a positive difference in the lives of several of our youth,” Stephenville Police Chief Dan Harris told Beneath the Surface News. “We were able to do so thanks to the love, support and generosity of so many citizens of this great city and county and for that we are so grateful.

“We wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas.”
