Owner of local water service shot at customer’s house; suspect charged with aggravated assault.

An Erath County business owner is in a Fort Worth Hospital after he was shot once in the stomach Friday afternoon.

Amanda Collins reached out to Beneath the Surface News to say that it was her husband Jeff Collins who had been shot.

“He is out of surgery. Going to be a long road of recovery," she said.

The details of what transpired Friday are still not clear, but Amanda Collins said her husband was shot by a customer.

The suspect, 75-year-old Ronald Oddo, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held at the Erath County Jail.

The shooting reportedly happened at Oddo’s home just off FM 3025.
