Tarleton State University will host mezzo-soprano Katherine Calcamuggio Donner and pianist Siwon Kim in concert at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Theater in Stephenville.
The event is sponsored by the Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council under the auspices of the Piatigorsky Foundation. Admission is free.
Donner is an award-winning vocalist featured in important role and company debuts throughout the United States.
An active recitalist, she has performed with the Piatigorsky Foundation across Minnesota, Washington, Montana, Florida, Oklahoma, Arizona and Wyoming, and has given recitals in Chicago with the American Opera Society and the Chicago Lyric Opera Lake Geneva Chapter.
Kim’s journey to musical mastery began at the Korean National University of Arts, where they obtained both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in choral conducting.
A rigorous academic background and diverse experiences earned their status as an accomplished piano accompanist in the realm of choral music.
They specialize in accompanying vocal performances.
Their talents have extended to collaborations with the Kentucky Music Educators Association as an all-state choir accompanist.
