Lifeguard shortage forces delayed opening, limited hours for Splashville.

A shortage of lifeguards is putting a damper on summer fun.

Stephenville’s only waterpark – Splashville – won’t open daily for the season beginning on Monday, June 6.

Instead, it will open this week – and every week for the time being – from noon-7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Swim lessons and water aerobics, however, are still proceeding during normal hours.

The other good news is that summer jobs with the city are abundant for strong swimmers.
