Ho ho ho! ChristmasVille is on its way and the festive event is bigger and better than ever!

Excitement over the city’s third annual ChristmasVille will likely be enough to snap you out of that turkey-induced coma you might find yourself stuck in this weekend.

Saturday is packed full of holiday revelry beginning with pancakes with Santa from 8-11 a.m. at Greer’s and ending with a lighted Christmas parade at 6:30 followed by the official lighting of the city’s Christmas tree and fireworks show.

ALL DAY FUN…

Julie Lowrance, president of the Stephenville Downtown Merchants, told Beneath the Surface News that there will be live performances by members of the Stephenville Music Club and Red Hat Steppers throughout the afternoon.

Stephenville High School art students will offer face painting from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the plaza and more than 50 tubas will play Christmas music from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

And make sure to stop by area retailers because most will offer in-store specials and their own brand of holiday fun on Saturday.

Here’s a snapshot of a few things that will be happening: Frames Etc will do letters to Santa and mulled cider from noon–5 p.m., Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council will host ornament making from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and an ugly sweater contest at 2 p.m. and Newton’s Saddlerack will sell Frito pies to-go for $8 and naughty Santa martinis.

It’s going to be a day of holiday fun for the entire family and mine can hardly wait!

See you there!
