Henderson Junior High School student arrested in connection with making bomb threat.

A Henderson Junior High School student is in custody in connection with making a bomb threat at the school last week.

The male student, whose age and grade level are not being released because he is a juvenile, was taken into custody at his home around noon on Monday.

It is not clear why the student wasn’t at school.

The student has been charged with making a terroristic threat, a third degree felony.

“He is being processed by juvenile probation and we expect him to be detained,” Captain James Gresham with the Stephenville Police Department told Beneath the Surface News. “The suspect in this case definitely understands the gravity of the situation.”

The bomb threat was reportedly written on a bathroom wall at the junior high last Thursday. Authorities were called after a student found the message and alerted a teacher.

Gresham would not comment on the exact wordage that was used, but said the message “was a direct threat to the junior high.”

Gresham said detectives have found no evidence that the student planned to carry out an attack.

This is the second threat made by students in Stephenville ISD in a matter of weeks.

“We take these types of threats very seriously, and we will use all of our resources to keep our students safe,” Gresham said. “These are not pranks. These are not jokes. These are not ha-ha moments.

“These are felony offenses and we will prosecute them as such.”
