Gang of thieves break into Bluff Dale ATM; get away with undisclosed amount of cash. Hunt for suspects underway.

A gang of thieves managed to break into InterBank’s ATM machine in Bluff Dale early Monday morning and now the hunt for the suspects is underway.

Erath County Sheriff Matt Coates told Beneath the Surface News that three suspects busted into the ATM and managed to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

“I don’t know all the details at this point because our investigators are still out there processing the scene,” he said.

Here’s what is known so far:

The sheriff’s office received a call about 5:30 a.m. Monday from a witness who said that three people had broken into the ATM and fled in a stolen church van from Tolar.

When the suspects realized they had been spotted, they rammed the witness’ vehicle with the van, but the witness (who was not hurt) continued to follow them.

The suspects then ditched the van, with two fleeing into the woods and the other stealing a dark-colored SUV.

Coates said it’s possible that the suspects belong to a large theft ring from the Metroplex.

Anyone with information about the case should call the sheriff’s office at 254-965-3338.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details are made available.
