“Let go and have fun.”

That’s the slogan of Five Below, the latest national retailer to sign on with Ulta Beauty and Hobby Lobby to open at Washington Commons in Stephenville.

“We are pleased to see continued interest in the Stephenville market from popular, fun brands,” Jeff Sandford, executive director of the Stephenville Economic Development Authority, told Beneath the Surface News. “We are seeing many stores return to more regular operations as consumers continue to migrate back into brick and mortar stores. This bodes well for markets such as ours.”

Washington Commons is the largest commercial development project in the city’s history. Its construction was expected to begin earlier this year, but was put on hold because of the pandemic.

Now those plans appear to be getting back on track.

Five Below is one of the fastest growing retailers in the country with more than 950 stores in 38 states.

Most of its products are priced under $5 and are displayed in eight “worlds” that include Tech, Create, Play, Candy, Room, Style, Party and New and Now.

It’s website currently features a slew of trendy Halloween decorations with fantastic prices.

Washington Commons will include 150,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space on a 17-acre parcel of land next to Walmart.

Groundbreaking is expected to begin in December.

“We look forward to additional announcements in the coming months as the tenant mix at Washington Commons continues to expand with quality, name-brand stores that our consumers will be delighted to see,” Sandford said.
