Erath County Junior Livestock Show prepares for kickoff with new arena, record-high participants.
Excitement is high over the 2023 Erath County Junior Livestock Show taking place Monday, Jan. 2, through Saturday, Jan. 7, at the ECLA Arena located at 2157 FM 205.

“We have over 350 kids with livestock projects and 750 livestock entries,” ECJLS chair Beverly Funderburgh told Beneath the Surface News. “And there are a lot more kids participating in the youth fair.”
Adding to the excitement is the fact that this year’s show and sale will be held in a new 38,950 square foot arena.
“We have grown so much every year that we ran out of room, so we built a new facility,” Beverly said. “The indoor arena has six large rollup doors, bathrooms, concessions, dressing rooms and an office.”
The sale of champions will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 7.

“We have kids from every school district in the county participating and they need our support,” Beverly said.
