Erath County Humane Society prepares to move dogs indoors before cold snap; seeks foster families.
The Erath County Humane Society needs help this week caring for about 20 dogs during the upcoming arctic blast that’s moving into the area on Thursday.
“We need to get all of the dogs inside, but we don’t have any indoor kennels available,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.
The shelter is currently housing 67 dogs and needs foster families for 20.
Temperatures are expected to begin taking a nosedive on Thursday, dipping into the teens and single digits on Friday and Saturday.
Serena is asking residents to take on a dog (or two) until early next week when temperatures return to normal.
If you’re interested in becoming a foster family, all you have to do is call 254-965-3247 or stop by the animal shelter located at 891 East Road in Stephenville.
“We will do our best to match them with dogs that fit their lifestyle, and we can provide food and bedding to those who need it,” Serena said.
