Encounters: New series on UFO sightings, including the one in Erath County, drops on Netflix.

I’ve had a lot of cool experiences in my career, but none top the opportunity I had last year to take part in a docuseries about the 2008 UFO sightings in Erath County.
Encounters, directed by Yon Motskin and produced by Amblin Television, Boardwalk Pictures and Vice Studios, is a four-part series that explores extraordinary true stories of UFO and alien sightings.
And it dropped today.
The Husband and I watched episode one, which features the strange lights spotted in Erath County 15 years ago, while sipping coffee at 5 a.m.
I was a nervous wreck, but I’m happy to tell you that I think it turned out great. I hope you do too.
The other three episodes tells the stories of submersible space crafts haunting a coastal Welsh village, an alien encounter with schoolchildren in Zimbabwe and non-human intelligence reportedly interfering with a nuclear power plant in Japan.
I’ll be binging those tonight.
The filming I took part in was shot in spring 2022 at the Dublin Citizen.
Director Yon Motskin, who created Max’s Generation Hustle, and the entire crew were so nice that my jittery nerves were immediately put to rest.
As many of you recall, I was a newspaper editor when that story first broke and being involved in anything with “UFO” in the headline kept my stomach in knots for weeks.
The majority of my input included the frustrations I felt when the story was circulating the globe and the intensity that transpired behind the scenes in the newsroom.
