Dublin murder suspect taken into custody at checkpoint while attempting to cross border.

Just hours after the Texas Rangers released a photo of Jesus Manuel Deleon, the murder suspect was spotted attempting to cross into Mexico Wednesday morning and taken into custody.

Dublin Police Chief Cameron Ray said the arrest happened in Eagle Pass.

“My understanding is that he was at a checkpoint and attempting to cross the border when he was arrested,” Chief Ray told Beneath the Surface News. “This all happened in the last 10 minutes.”

Deleon is accused of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend, Dora Santamaria Hernandez, in the front yard of his Dublin residence on Sunday night.

Deleon will be held at the Maverick County Detention Center until he can be transported back to Erath County to face charges.
