Cross Timbers Family Services is hosting a barbecue open house and Fat Mary’s Catering is cooking.
Cross Timbers Family Services is inviting the public to an open house and barbecue to meet the staff and learn more about its mission to help victims of violent crime and domestic abuse.
The event will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct 22.
“We divided it into lunch and dinner to give people a better opportunity to come by and meet our staff and tour the office,” CTFS executive director Laura Gambino told Beneath the Surface News.
But here’s the best part: Jon Koonsman with Fat Mary’s Catering is smoking a slew of meats you can pre-order online at www.crosstimbershelps.org and pick up during the open house.
Koonsman will be smoking whole beef briskets (starting at $90), beef tenderloin ($50), pork butt ($100) and pork tenderloin ($75) or you can order a two-meat plate with sides (15).

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

Here’s a look at two upcoming events:
• WEDNESDAY, OCT. 7, AT THE BIG AXE HOUSE: CTFS will have a booth at the Big Axe House with information about human trafficking. Proceeds from that day will be donated to CTFS
• “WALK THE TALK” MIXER AT LUCKY VINES VINEYARD: Stop by this beautiful venue from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, and enjoy a glass of wine while learning more about CTFS.
