As city secretary Staci King prepares to take on a new challenge in Glen Rose, the city of Stephenville is throwing her a farewell celebration as a thank you for her 20 years of service.

Staci began her career with the city in October 2002 when she joined the Stephenville Police Department as a part-time records clerk.

In 2004 she was promoted to full time records clerk and remained in that position until 2012, at which time she took on the role of public works/community services administrative assistant.

In 2015, Staci became the assistant to the city administrator and city secretary, and two years later she took on one of the biggest challenges of her career - city secretary.

“Staci is constantly a ray of sunshine, a wealth of knowledge and loves the community of Stephenville,” Kelli Votypka, director of parks and leisure service, told Beneath the Surface News. “We have been blessed to have Staci King as part of our team for 18 years and she will be missed terribly.

“We are so very proud of her for taking a leap of faith and taking on this next adventure which we are all sure will be a huge success.”

The public is invited to Staci’s farewell celebration, which will be held from 3-5 p.m. Friday, May 20, (her last day with the city) at the Paradigm Building.
