Residents will get another chance to hear from candidates running for Stephenville City Council and the Stephenville ISD board of trustees when the Erath County Republican Party hosts a forum at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at SISD’s Virginia Bond Auditorium.

The event will feature candidates running for Stephenville mayor - incumbent Doug Svien and challenger Brady Pendleton; Stephenville City Council place 6 between David Baskett and Dean Parr; and Stephenville ISD place 4 between Luke Sims and Amauri Martinez.

Ben McLeery will moderate the forum and told Beneath the Surface News that he plans to pose three to four “specific and relevant” questions to candidates in each race.

“We want voters to be informed and for them to know where candidates stand on the issues, so I may have follow-up questions depending on how they answer,” McLeery said.

All the candidates plan to take part in Thursday’s forum.

“I have told the candidates that they can come early and stay late to visit with voters,” McLeery said.

The forum will be live-streamed on the Erath County Republican Party Facebook page.
