Luke Sims is ready to talk to voters and the candidate running for place 4 on the Stephenville ISD board of trustees is hosting an event to do just that.

Sims is hosting a meet-and-greet at his restaurant – The Shack - from 5-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5.

“We will have some snacks and drinks and general conversation with the public,” Sims told Beneath the Surface News. “It’s an open invitation for people to come by and get a general feel of who I am and ask questions.”

This is Sims’ first run for political office.

He said he’s running for school board because he loves the place where he and his wife are raising their children.

“I am running to be a voice to ensure transparency and to hold those accountable that are stewards of your hard-earned money,” Sims said. “I am running to make sure every child, staff member and voter has a voice that is heard. I am running to uphold the morals and values on which our city was founded and continue to be embraced.

“I am not a politician. I am a local businessman that has had this challenge placed on my heart. I am a common sense, work-hard-for-what-you-want individual that truly appreciates this community.”
