Summers in Texas can be excruciatingly hot, but Stephenville’s Bosque River Taphouse is keeping it cool with cold beer and good vibes.

Brew master Will Tubbs sat down with Beneath the Surface News to talk about what’s on tap this summer.

“Right now, I am focused on trying to keep up with demand,” Will said. “Our goal is to make sure we have our standard offerings and we are experimenting with some summer ideas.

“We did a small batch of Don’t Feed This to Your Cows – and it’s really taken off and we’re adding it to our seven-barrel system.”

The taphouse offers a variety of craft beer and refreshing cocktails for every palate.

Will said the taphouse’s overwhelming fan favorite is an American light lager dubbed Firewheel.

“We also have a sangria seltzer, but that will be changing to something more refreshing soon. We plan to release a paloma seltzer later this month,” he said. “And we are playing around with a hazy IPA to see what people respond to.”

The Bosque River Taphouse has something else that’s new: To-go offerings.

“Our two prepackaged beers include Firewheel and Top Goat – a Texan style bock that’s light and refreshing,” he said.

Will is no stranger to the art of brewing beer and has been with the taphouse since its inception.

He has previous experience at Revolver Brewing.

“I had a lot of ideas in my head that I was able to bring to life when I came to Bosque River Taphouse,” he said.

NEW LOCATION COMING IN 2025

The company has broken ground on its permanent location at the corner of Swan and Harbin streets in Stephenville with a grand opening set for February 2025.

The new 15,000 square foot location will feature 7,000 square feet of outside entertainment space and family-friendly space that is separate from the bar.
