Another positive case prompts call from state health official inquiring about large gatherings.

Erath County residents almost made it a full day without any newly-diagnosed cases of COVID.

But late Tuesday afternoon, Stephenville's Health Authority Dr. Kelly Doggett reported another positive test inside the city limits.

"They just keep coming," Dr. Doggett told BTS News. “I was contacted by the regional director of the Texas Department of Health today because of the unusual spike in cases. They want to know if we have had large gatherings or activities to explain it.”

Erath County has had a total of 44 positive cases since the pandemic began.
